Ava, Missouri is a little rural town nestled in the Ozarks. It boasts being the only town in Douglas County, with approximately 3,000 people.
Ava is a very scenic area with rolling hills, cattle on pasture, clear streams that lead south to Bull Shoals Lake for great fishing. We are home to the Mark twain national forest that is great for hunting, and our roads are the scenic route to Branson for entertainment. We have AAA rated schools, large factor for employment, restaurants, and a Super Wal-Mart.
Ava is the world headquarters for the Missouri Fox Trotting Horse Breeders Association. Recently the Missouri Fox Trotting horse was officially designated the “State horse of Missouri”. People come from all over the world to participate in this event which cumulates over the 1st week in September each year.
